DeLonghi DCG39 Electric Grinder, 2.36-Ounce Capacity
This sleek coffee grinder features a 2.36 capacity, grinding enough beans for up to 12 cups of coffee. You have full control with a grind selector for coarse, medium, or fine grounds. Durable stainless steel blades; rubber feet keep unit in place. Convenient, self-contained cord storage. Push button control; auto shut-off. Model DCG39. Manufacturer’s 1-year warranty.
With a capacity of 2.36 ounces, this sleek machine employs stainless-steel blades to grind enough coffee beans for brewing up to twelve 5-ounce cups of percolator, drip, or espresso coffee. The grinder can be filled with beans and the amount of beans it grinds can be selected with a dial that’s calibrated by number of cups desired: 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12. During operation, lights above the on/off button flash on the grind selector, indicating when the grind is coarse, medium, or fine, permitting the grinder to be shut off when the desired grind is achieved. The grind selector displays the words “coarse,” “medium,” and “fine” along with the brewing method appropriate for each grind: respectively, “perc” (percolator), “drip,” and “espresso.” Clad in gleaming black plastic with matte silver accents, the hourglass-shaped grinder is thoroughly contemporary in appearance and has a rubberized grip and push-in cord storage. Rubberized feet prevent it from slipping during operation. It carries a one-year warranty against defects. –Fred Brack

DeLonghi DCG39 Electric Grinder, 2.36-Ounce Capacity Reviews
WOW!! This thing sucks. 0 STARS
I just got this thing 2 hours ago. In the middle of grinding a 16oz bag and it stops working. Made it through about 8oz…try again two hours later thinking motor got too hot, nope. Number one, this is nothing more than a typical small “hand held” grinder with a few lights and a cup dial that does absolutely nothing. DO NOT BUY THIS. The others who wrote a positive review must have been lighting the bottom of a spoon before they tried using this thing.
Worst grinder I’ve ever used
–and I’ve used a LOT of grinders. VERY badly designed, and the “custom” thing is a gimmick and a sham: it’s a standard rotary grinder. They just added flashing lights and extra buttons, and made it look bulkier. Every day was a misery dealing with this thing: it’s designed so that you have no choice but to spill grinds all over the place when you use it.
door stop
did not grind well and then after about 4 months died. I won’t make the mistake of buying a DeLonghi product aging.
Grinds just the way you want it!
My husband and I bought this grinder several months ago, and it works great. We use it every week and have had no problems at all. We especially love the speed and accuracy of the blade, the 12-cup capacity, and the wind-up cord that disappears from view. This grinder sure beats having to grind your beans at the supermarket where you end up with all of your predecessors’ residual grounds (and completely different beans!) in your cup. This was the primary reason we chose to buy our own grinder. Not only is the DeLonghi a performer, but it also looks nice in the kitchen. A lot of our friends have commented on it and bought one for themselves. Try it. You’ll like it, too!
So far so good
This item has broken on a few people, so I will update this review if it breaks. So far I really like it. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because it seems a tad tall for no real reason. Otherwise it is great. The grind indicator works well once you get a feel for it, although you can do about as well by looking at the grinds yourself as it is grinding. It is also nice that is has a skinny middle coated with rubber so it is easy to hold without slipping. I guess making the skinny middle part may be why it is a bit tall. The look is realy cool and the wind up cord is great too.
Ok, the update: three years later in 2006 this thing is still going strong, despite my dumping boiling water in it to clean it and doing other non-manufacturer-approved stuff to it. Two thumbs up.
