12 sacked for stealing coffee money

12 workers have been sacked by a Japanese railway company and another 21 have been reprimanded for stealing at least 5 million Yen from the sales of coffee on an overnight sleeper train.

However it is estimated, but not proved, that a total of 14 million Yen could have been stolen since the overnight sleeper service was launched in 1989.

Apparantly, The theft went un-noticed because passengers were not charged for re-fills.
